Solihull Editorial 5th May, 2023   0

RUNNERS are being called on to pull on their trainers and take part in Run Solihull 2023.

The annual event on August 13 will see hundreds take on either a half marathon, 10k or kids race around the borough in aid of charity.

And this year orgnaisers have teamed up with Acorns Children’s Hospice. which gives hundreds of children and families that receive its vital care and support every year.

Zoe Baggott, Acorns senior fundraising manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be official charity for this year’s race. It’s a fantastic event, and suitable for all ages and abilities – whether you’re a seasoned runner or a family looking for a fun day out.

“Money raised will go directly to the local families who receive love, care and support from Acorns both in our hospices and in family homes. It’s a fantastic cause and we hope lots of people pull on their running shoes and get involved.”

Every attendee at this year’s event will receive a complementary Acorns running vest, bespoke support from the Acorns Events team to help with training and fundraising, a fundraising pack and free official race photos.

Lucy Harfield from RunThrough said: “We are thrilled to partner with Acorns for Run Solihull this year. They’re a charity that delivers so much good work in our community, but relies on voluntary donations and the generosity of local people to continue.

“It’s a partnership that we know will help benefit numerous local families whilst inspiring all our runners and spurring them on to the finish line, in the knowledge that they are making a real difference.”
