A GIRL, 12, was allegedly approached by a boy with a knife in a Castle Vale park after multiple reports of youths with weapons.

A boy, 14, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public space.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating after a 12-year-old girl was approached by a boy with a knife in a park off Farnborough Road, Castle Vale, at around 12.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, March 26).

“He was verbally abusive but she walked away unharmed.




“Officers also attended separate reports of youths with weapons in the park around 3.30pm yesterday.

“A knife was recovered and a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of having a bladed article in a public place.


“He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue and also referred to the youth offending service.
