EXCITEMENT grew among Solihull pupils as they find out what GCSE results they achieved.
Pupils discovered if they had got the grades they needed to move onto sixth-form, college, other training or employment.
Summit Learning Trust is celebrating excellent GCSE examination results for young people from its secondary academies – Cockshut Hill School, Lyndon School and Ninestiles, an Academy.
At Lyndon School Shfaa Qaiser received five 9s and five 8s in her GCSE and equivalent subjects. She has applied to study Biology, Chemistry, History and Maths at Solihull Sixth Form and hopes to pursue a career in dentistry or medicine.
Mahnoor Qureshi received one 6, six 5s and one grade 1. She has secured an apprenticeship in pharmacy.

Our learners richly deserve this recognition and every opportunity that comes their way in the future. ”
At Cockshut Hill Ali-Shaan Hamdeen achieved grade 9’s in seven subjects, along with grade 8s in two subjects a grade 7. Ali-Shaan is planning to study A levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry and hopes to study medicine.
Zarin Tarin, who hopes to study A levels in Maths, Computing and DT before pursuing a career in engineering. Zarin achieved two 9s, two grade 8s, three 7s, and a Level 2 Distinction in Engineering.

At Ninestiles, an Academy head girl and award winning public speaker Marigold Adu received three grade 9s and all other subjects at grade 7 or above.
Isaac Mohammed has balanced studying for his GCSEs with a burgeoning cricket career for Warwickshire, he received grade 5 or above in English, Maths and RE as well as a level 2 Merit in Sports Studies and his cricketing career is progressing well.
And Jacob Clifton, passed Maths at grade 4 and received a level 2 Pass in Hospitality. He wants to pursue his dream of being a chef, after completing a chef course on Saturday mornings and getting brilliant feedback.

Solihull School announced an outstanding set of GCSE results, with 78 per cent of all grades at 9 to 7, 56 per cent of all grades at 9 to 8 and 29 per cent of all grades at 9.
Furthermore, an amazing 63 pupils achieved eight or more grades at 9 to 8 and 10 pupils achieved 10 or more grade 9s.
Charles Fillingham, executive headmaster said: “This is a truly fabulous set of results from an inspiring group of young people. The results also highlight the dedication and commitment of our staff.”
