AN ACCOUNTANTS company which has raised more than £113,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital has been handed a top honour.

Prime Accountants was crowned Corporate Supporter of the Year at the Hospital’s 100 Heroes Awards in recognition of its longstanding commitment to seriously ill children and their families.

The award was announced at a ceremony, where members of the team joined fellow supporters, fundraisers and hospital staff to celebrate those making a difference to young lives across the region.

The team’s efforts have ranged from physically demanding group challenges to hands-on volunteering within the hospital itself.

Prime, which has offices in Solihull and Coventry, also sponsors the hospital’s stem cell transplant ward, helping to fund an environment where some of the most vulnerable children receive highly specialised care.

One of its most notable fundraising efforts saw the team take on a 24-hour endurance challenge, climbing the equivalent of seven times the height of Mount Everest on treadmills.

The original target of £19,000 was quickly surpassed, with support from clients and the wider community helping the total reach £30,000.

Away from fundraising, staff have spent time with patients and their families, from helping with craft sessions to creating a festive welcome at the hospital’s Santa’s Grotto.

Katie Harris, corporate partnerships manager for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, explained why Prime were given this year’s honour, “Prime Accountants have won this award because they are such a dedicated group and that really shows in all that they have achieved.

“They have put so much time and effort into organising their challenges, not only raising a phenomenal amount but making a huge impact. That’s the real driver for it and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

Jamie Skelding, director at Prime Accountants Group, said: “When they announced us as this year’s winner, and we watched the video of Katie congratulating us and explaining why we were chosen, it was a special moment for us, and honestly, where it all began to sink in of how long we have been doing this and how appreciated our efforts are.

“Over the years, we have met children and families facing situations most of us can hardly begin to understand. Those conversations stay with you and they change how you see things.

“This award belongs just as much to the people who have supported us along the way as it does to our team. Our clients, our friends, the wider community. Their kindness has made all of this possible.”

Prime Accountants Group has confirmed it will continue its partnership with the charity throughout 2026, with further fundraising plans already underway.
