THE SUN shone down as Berkswell Windmill opened its doors on Saturday (August 11).
There was plenty on offer at the historic mill, including tours with Ray Martin who explained how the windmill would have worked when it was fully operational.
Children were given the chance to have a go at making flour on the mini millstone and even a chance to watch Helen Essex from the Coventry weavers and spinners guild.
Windmill owner Jeanette McGarry and Dutch millwright Johan Vandersteg were on hand as the open day got under way and there were the usual cream tea and scones on the lawn.
Observer photographer Jon Mullis was on hand to capture a snapshot of the day’s events.
