A FUN-FILLED festival in Tudor Grange Park promises live music, dog shows, fairground rides and classic cars.

The 13th annual ‘Fun in the Park’ event takes place on September 23, with proceeds going to borough charities.

The organisers, Soroptimist International of Solihull and District, are offering an array of entertainment including pitch and putt, zorbing and go-karts.

You can even see the original coach and Mini Cooper cars from the classic bank heist movie, The Italian Job.

The mayor of Solihull, councillor Flo Nash, will officially open the day at 11am.

A spokesperson for Soroptimist International, a female empowerment organisation, said: “We are delighted to invite you, your family and friends to spend Sunday, September 23 with us at the 13th annual ‘Fun in the Park’ event at Tudor Grange Park, Monkspath Hall Road, Solihull.

“The fun will carry on until we close at 5pm.

“Each year Fun in the Park gets bigger and better and this year we will be taking over the Cycle Track – you won’t miss us.

“Local charities to benefit this year are St Basils Nightstop (supporting homeless young people locally), the Lily Mae Foundation (supporting bereaved families of stillborn and infant deaths) and Solihull MIND – a Horticulture, Conservation and Sports Project.

“We couldn’t run Fun in the Park without much help and support of our main sponsors – Rimilia and Willows Veterinary Centre.

“As well as businesses; Paragon, Midland Eye Centre, Jaguar Land Rover, Easicom and the Gem Box. And our partners – St Alphege Rotary Club and many other volunteers.

“Want to join them? Contact us on [email protected].”

Entry is £3 for an adult, £1 for a child or £6 for a family. Parking is available in the Monkspath Hall Road car park.
