THE IMPACTS of menopause and how to tackle the challenges it brings will be the focus of two workshops next week.
Touchwood shopping centre is set to welcome Transformation In Action CIC (TIA CIC) to raise awareness around the impacts of menopause for Menopause Awareness Month- October.
With this year’s theme for Menopause Awareness Month focusing on cognition and mood, Touchwood will be hosting two free events in the centre to support women and other genders affected by menopause in the local community.
Transformation In Action CIC (TIA CIC) is a not-for-profit social enterprise founded by Aline Boblin to help and empower people during menopause.
The first event – Menopause and Employment – will be held at Touchwood on October 13 at 3pm.
This two-hour, free workshop will raise awareness of the challenges of the menopause at work and potential business impacts and give practical advice on how to implement inclusive practices in the workplace to support colleagues affected by menopause.
The second, free event will take place on October 16 from 10am until 4.30pm to mark Menopause Awareness Day on October 18.
The event is open to all and guest speakers will offer information on Perimenopause and Menopause, holistic strategies to address impacts, removing barriers to lifestyle changes and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
Aline Boblin, founder of TIA CIC, added: “Menopause symptoms can have a huge impact on families, relationships and work.
“TIA CIC’s events with employers and in the community, such as those at Touchwood, aim to change people’s perceptions of the menopause.
“It’s time we change the narrative and make sure menopause matters across the board, so that perimenopause and menopause are a simple, positive, and empowering time in life, a time to thrive, a second spring.”
