Free tree advice to mark National Tree Week

Solihull Editorial 25th Nov, 2015 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

SOLIHULL residents interested in learning about trees can get free advice from a virtual garden centre.

As part of National Tree week, www.potterandrest.co.uk is offering free advice for budding arboriculturalists in the borough.

From Saturday, November 28 until Sunday, December 6, the site will be offering advice on selecting, growing and caring for trees while Facebook and Twitter can be used for interested people to ask questions.

National Tree week is an annual tree celebration of the start of the winter tree planing season, and aims to draw attention to the fact that Britain is one of the least-tree inhabited countries in Europe.

Peter Burks, Horticultural Expert at the virtual garden centre, said: “It is important that we plant more trees as they provide the habitat for so many of our native creatures.

“They are also vital in the fight against climate change.”
