Free energy advice as The Mobile Warm Hub comes to Shirley

SOLIHULL residents will be able to access free energy advice to help reduce future bills.

Organised by Warwickshire Rural Community Council (WRCC) and supported by Cadent, the Mobile Warm Hub will be visiting Shirley every Tuesday for several weeks.

Between 10.30am and 12.30pm, anyone is invited to pop down  to get information and advice on energy savings, home safety and access to more community support.

The Mobile Warm Hub is all about targeting fuel poverty and rising living costs through promoting energy efficiency tips and cost saving measures.

WRCC can also provide carbon monoxide alarms to residents in order to improve home safety.

Shirley Mobile Warm Hub Community Café will run on Tuesday mornings until the end of September from 10.30am – 12.30pm at 1 – 35 Greenhill Way, Shirley, Solihull, B90 3PW.

Meriden Warm Hub runs every Tuesday morning from 10.30am-12.30pm at The Pavilion, Meriden Sports Park CV7 7SP.

Coun Karen Grinsell, Deputy Leader of Solihull Council and Councillor for Shirley East Ward, said: “The offer of free energy advice for residents is particularly timely with growing concerns around soaring energy bills and the cost of living crisis gripping the nation.

“If anyone has any questions or concerns about their electricity or gas bills, no matter how small, I’d strongly encourage you to pop down to have a chat with one of the friendly team.”

Sue Greenway, Warm Hubs Project Coordinator at Warwickshire Rural Community Council (WRCC), said: “We are delighted to bring the Mobile Warm Hub to Shirley.

“As the cost of living increases, community support is hugely important. We hope people find a friendly welcome, somewhere to chat and a source of help and support at the Mobile Warm Hub.”
