FIVE teens were arrested in Solihull this morning (Friday) after raids were carried out across the borough and in Birmingham, writes Rafi Khan.

In connection with bike robberies, officers from the Solihull Neighbourhood Crime Team and the Chelmsley Wood Neighbourhood team, executed warrants across multiple addresses.

There has been a worrying increase in the number of motorcycles and pedal cycle robberies across Solihull Borough.

Three 17-year-old males and two 16-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of robbery offences, following the warrants.

All five were taken in custody for questioning.

Sgt Mark Heard, from Solihull Police, said “This is an intrusive and distressing crime, and it will not be accepted.”

He wants to reassure the community incidents were being investigated and suspects were being targeted.

“The warrants show we will not accept thess offences taking place and will work to bring those responsible before the courts”, he added.

The police are keen to gather any dashcam footage which could help officers find those responsible for these incidents.

Anyone with information or footage should call police on 101.
