Five generations of family come together

Solihull Editorial 19th Sep, 2022   0

A 103-YEAR-OLD had a very special visitor when five generations of her family came together.

Gwendoline, who lives at Chelmunds Court care home in Chelmsley Wood, was introduced to her great, great granddaughter, Harper for the first time.

The team and family expressed tears of joy and happiness as the newest addition to the family was welcomed by Gwen.

She enjoyed many cuddles with Harper and sang lullabies that she would often sing to her daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughter.

With COVID restrictions being tight over the last few years, the opportunity to all come together has been limited, but with the birth of Harper, the family and the team at the care home worked together to create this special moment for Gwen.

Margaret, Gwen’s daughter, thanked the home for organizing a wonderful day. She said: “Having us all together in one room was such an emotional experience and mum was so pleased to meet baby Harper.

“I can’t thank the team at Chelmunds Court enough for organising such a beautiful day. It was a very touching moment for us all.”
