THE FIRST post-Covid Mayor’s Charity Ball raised over £3,000 for the Mayor of Solihull’s charities.

The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Diana Holl-Allen, hosted the fundraising event in aid of Marie Curie Hospice and the British Heart Foundation at Hogarth in Dorridge.

There was plenty on offer with Solihull singing trio, the Boogaloo Babes, a piper, string quartet, and DJ providing a fun and entertainment for the 120 guests.

The guest speakers for the evening were Hazel Carter on behalf of Marie Curie and Sarbjit ‘Miracle Man’ Singh on behalf of British Heart Foundation.

They spoke of their inspiring accounts of the tragic and life-changing experiences which led to them supporting the charities which they represented.

The Mayor of Solihul said: “I am so proud to say the return of the Mayor’s ball after four years was a thoroughly enjoyable night, with spectacular performances and a wonderful atmosphere.

“I am grateful to all those who came along, and who helped to raise such important funds for my charities. The guest speakers really provided an insight into the support their charities provide, and how the money raised really goes to vital causes.

“Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, for your hard work and dedication. It has been one of the highlights in my year as Mayor, and a great finale as my Mayoral days draw to a close. I’m honoured to have been Mayor of Solihull, and will continue to praise and celebrate our fantastic borough.”
