First batch of energy bill rebates processed by Solihull Council

Solihull Editorial 15th Apr, 2022   0

SOLIHULL Council has processed the recently announced energy bill rebate to the first group of residents in the borough.

Those in Council Tax Bands A-D (or in Band E and qualify for the disabled band reduction) who paid council tax by direct debit on Friday April 1, 2022 have now had their energy bill rebate processed.

Due to Easter bank holidays, the balance will likely show in residents’ bank accounts from Wednesday, April 20, onwards.

Energy bill rebates for residents in Council Tax Bands A-D (or in Band E and qualify for the disabled band reduction) due to pay council tax by direct debit on Friday, April 15, will be processed in the week beginning Monday, April 25.

As previously, residents should allow three to five working days from this date for the money to appear in their account.

Residents who do not pay via direct debit, or are due to start paying by it in May 2022, will receive a letter shortly inviting them to apply for the energy bill rebate.

Households not eligible for this scheme may still be eligible for the discretionary scheme.
