Finding out about adoption

Sarah Mason 22nd Jan, 2026   0

A MARSTON Green adoption agency marked Big Adoption Day 2026.

Adoption Focus joined other Voluntary Adoption Agencies (VAAs) on Wednesday (January 21) to highlight the invaluable work, child-focused approach, and the lifelong support its provides for children and families.

Agencies also hosted events for potential adopters to find out more about the process and the support on offer for adopters.

Anna Sharkey, Adoption Focus chief executive, said: “January is often a time for reflection and new beginnings, and we know that many potential adopters are thinking about starting the adoption journey in the new year.

“With Big Adoption Day now is the perfect opportunity to learn more and take that first step towards giving a child the family they’ve been waiting for.”

VAAs like Adoption Focus are independent, not-for-profit organisations, offering a personalised service to adopters from all backgrounds and enhanced adoption support.

Adoption Focus said agencies have a wealth of experience having collectively placed thousands of children with adoptive families, particularly those who wait the longest in care – older children, those in sibling groups, and children from the global majority or with disabilities.
