SILHILLIANS who may be eligible to get help to improve their homes energy efficiency are being urged to pop down to one of the remaining home energy advice drop-in events to find out more.
The Home Upgrade Grant is targeted at off-gas properties which have a combined annual income of less than £31,000 and an energy performance rating (EPC) between D and G.
Those who pop in to an event can chat with the team, discuss their personal circumstances and find out how to take the next step.
The drop-in events also discuss energy efficiency home improvements more generally and there is a chance to learn about the Solihull Household Support Fund which can offer eligible residents support with energy bills, debt and heating.
The remaining energy advice drop-in events are on:
Tuesday, June 20, from 2pm until 5pm at Olton Library
Tuesday, June 20, from 5.30pm until 7pm in The Pavilion at Meriden Sports Park
Wednesday, June 21, from 4.30pm until 6.30pm at Catherine-De-Barnes Village Hall
Thursday, June 22, from 4pm until 6pm at Knowle Library
Councillor Andy Mackiewicz, cabinet member for Climate Change and Planning, said: “The drop-in energy events have been a success so far and I encourage anyone to attend and find out more.
“The Home Upgrade Grant is a great scheme for eligible residents with off-gas homes to benefit from free and subsidised energy efficiency measures.
“With the warm weather we’re experiencing, it may seem odd to think about energy and insulation right now.
“However, improving the energy efficiency of your home and upgrading your insulation can help you stay cool in these warm summer months by keeping the heat out.
“At the same time, you’ll also be futureproofing your home for the winter when retaining heat becomes the priority.”
