BUDDING legal eagles at The Sixth Form College, Solihull have reached the Finals of the Regional Mooting Competition 2017.
Ammad Butt and Ronan Murphy are A level Law students who are part of the College’s Law Academy enrichment and they took part in the Mooting Competition at the University of Wolverhampton.
The students presented the case for the prosecution of a gross negligence manslaughter case against Holyhead School and were highly commended by the judges, who described the students’ performance as ‘an excellent application of the law.’
The students will now progress to the Finals and have been drawn against Halesowen College where they will face four judges.
Elaine Gerard, Curriculum Leader for Business and Law, said: “This is a great competition for our students to be involved in.
“The students who have joined our Law Academy all have serious ambitions to forge careers in the legal professions, so this competition allows them to develop some essential skills.
“I’m looking forward to see how they get on in the Finals.”
