Final call to sign up to the 2019 Knowle Fun Run

Sarah Mason 29th Apr, 2019

THE FINAL call is being put out to runners across the borough to sign up to this year’s Knowle Fun Run.

The annual calendar highlight takes place on Sunday, May 19 – but anyone wanting to take part must be entered by Monday (May 13) to ensure they receive timing chips and running numbers in time.

The Fun Run has made hundreds of thousands of pounds for local good causes over the years.

Organisers are hoping this year’s event will see them collect funds for the chosen charities – Sepsis Trust and SoLO Life Opportunities as well as local causes.

West Midlands Mayor Andy Street will be getting runners underway at the starting line before jumping down from the starter’s rostrum and run the 5k course.

There will be four children’s Runs for those under 9 starting at 11am, while the 5k and 10k Fun Runs start at noon.

Adrian Harris, organiser, said: “As usual we shall be welcoming runners from all over the country, not just the Midlands.

“As in recent years there will be an element of noise – with Knowle Church ringing its bells as the runners pass and a number of other attractions around the route.”
