Festivals fill Touchwood in September

Solihull Editorial 7th Sep, 2024   0

THE SPIRIT of summer will live on at Touchwood with a variety of festivals and shows on offer.

Autumn will start with a bang at the shopping centre with the Mid-Autumn Festival, an Animal Show Live and the annual Solihull Food Festival.

On Saturday 14 September the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Chinese Moon Festival will take place.

The traditional harvest festival is celebrated in Chinese culture when the moon is at its fullest and brightest size.

With the support of volunteers from Solihull Hongkongers, UK Welcomes Refugees, Solihull Methodist Church, Christian Zheng Sheng Association UK and Be Water, guests will be able to enjoy a huge range of activities including lion dance performances, lantern and calligraphy workshops and musical performances, and can even sample traditional teas and mooncakes.

The Animal Show Live will return to Touchwood on September 21 and 22.

The show will run from noon until 4pm and includes creepy crawlies and reptiles, from snakes and scorpions to chameleons and cockroaches.

Local foodies can seek out a weekend of indulgent treats, from September 27 to 29.

Solihull is bringing back its hugely popular annual Food Festival, with a range of Touchwood outlets getting involved.

On September 28, celebrity chef Aldo Zilli from Emporio Artari, located within Touchwood, will be centre stage in Mell Square, along with friends from Yakinori, Hotel Chocolat and Tio Latino who will be on the Chef’s Stage Talking Food to demonstrate, sample and talk about their products.

Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, said: “September at Touchwood is going to be a great month of celebration and fun for the entire family, and we look forward to welcoming guests both old and new to experience it along with us.”
