Paramedics and West Midlands Fire Service were called to the incident just after 11am yesterday (Wednesday, December 18) at the Marks and Spencer car park in Poplar Road, in the town centre.

A fire crew from Hay Mills attended the scene and a spokeswoman said five firefighters assisted an elderly female motorist who had collided into a wall on the first-floor of the multi-storey car park.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11:01am to reports of a single vehicle RTC at a multi-storey car park in Poplar Road, Solihull.

“We sent one ambulance to scene.

“We’ve treated one patient, a woman, who was the driver of the car, for potentially serious injuries. She’s been taken to Heartlands Hospital for further treatment.”
