Fashionistas raise funds to help sick babies

FASHIONISTAS strutted down the catwalk and raised much-needed funds for sick babies.

Clothing shop The Closet in Knowle hosted the charity fashion show at Nuthurst Grange Country House Hotel in Solihull and raised £3,000 for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry.

Around 150 people were given a Greville Court shop’s new collection and dug deep and handed over funds in the raffle.

This was the second event held by The Closet’s proprietor Rachel Gray in aid of the charity which have raised nearly £5,000 in total for Zoe’s Place which needs £1.3million a year to keep its doors open.

Zoe’s Place is a dedicated hospice for babies and young children up to the age of five with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses.

Rachel said: “The event was a huge success and I am absolutely thrilled at the result.

“However I couldn’t have done it with the help of my team including Amanda Jeffs, Karen Jones and the team at Nicola Smyth who did the hair on the night.

“The work Zoe’s Place does is just incredible and clearly captured the hearts of the guests as it has mine.

“I would like to thank everyone at The Closet. Also a huge thank you to everyone who has given their support particularly Prosperity Wealth, Nuthurst Grange and Nicola Smyth and of course our guests who helped to make this event possible.”

Zoe’s Place national patron and managing director of Contechs, Pete Jarvis said: “This is a fantastic result. Now in its eighth year, Zoe’s Place is a charity which is almost wholly reliant on charitable donations and so the fundraising effort is a constant challenge.

“It is for this reason why events such as these are so important. They truly make a difference to the families and children Zoe’s Place supports across the regions.

“On behalf of Zoe’s Place, I would therefore like to say massive thank you to Rachel and everyone who supported this event and worked so hard to achieve such an incredible result.”
