A STUNNED Solihull family have been left reeling after a school run mum crashed into the front of their house.

Garima Mehta’s 15-year-old daughter was in the house when the incident happened at 7.42am on Monday, October 18.

A VW Jetta left the road and hit the front porch of the house, in Solihull Road, Shirley, causing extensive damage.

Mrs Mehta, who herself was on a school run with her five year old son, came home to see the devastation: “I couldn’t believe it.

“I have never seen such a thing – there was this lady and her car was in the front of our house.

“Thankfully no one was injured.

“However I’m in deep stress and having asthma attacks since seeing the state of our house and I can’t sleep with the thought that my family could have got hurt.

“My daughter needed to be rescued by police and fire services securing the falling porch.”

Her husband, a computer contractor, also returned to survey the damage.

“We’ve contacted the insurance company but seem to be being passed from one person to the other and no one is going to come out to inspect the damage until Friday.

“The police aren’t going to press any charges and I just feel that everyone is now feeling relaxed about all of this except us without any of it being our fault.”
