THE FAMILY of a woman who was killed in an accident just days before Christmas have paid tribute to a “wonderful wife, sister, daughter and friend”.

Georgina Johnson from Meriden died after her Smart car set alight after a collision with a Mercedes SLK 250 on Browns Lane just after 7am on December 19.

The 44-year-old’s family have spoken of their loss.

A statement read: “Gina was a wonderful wife, sister, daughter and friend. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved life and was full of energy. She was gifted and talented.

“No words can ever express the pain and loss that we feel at this difficult and traumatic time.”

The driver of the Mercedes, 27-year-old Nicky Gosal, of Sudbury Court Road, Sudbury-on-Thames in London, appeared before Coventry magistrates on December 22 charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

He was remanded in custody to reappear at Coventry Magistrates Court in March.

Collision investigators continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward.

PC Paul Cope said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw either car in the moments leading up to the crash.

“This was a tragic incident and our thoughts are with Gina’s family and friends at this sad time.”

Witnesses are asked to contact PC Cope on 101.
