'Face of Solihull' lands top modelling contract

BEAUTY Ellie Ryan has landed a top modelling contract after being spotted in Solihull.

The 18-year-old was crowned joint winner in the Face of Solihull search, alongside male model Angelo Milas, and has now been signed to agency Blake Models.

Ellie and Milas beat off competition from more than 50 catwalk could-be’s at an open casting session during Solihull’s first ever fashion week in April.

The event, organised by Solihull BID, was supported by Mell Square and John Lewis, and included workshops, fashion shows and expert talks, as well as a borough-wide search for aspiring models.

The final faces were chosen by judges Melanie Palmer, executive director of Solihulll BID, Alan Sharman from the Alan Sharman Agency, and Jenny Eason, founder of Midlands Fashion Awards.

And it looks like Ellie, who has just finished studying her A-Levels at Heart of England School in Basall Common, is destined for big things.

As well as being snapped by Birmingham-based photographer Garazi Gardner for BID’s InSolihull magazine, she was quickly signed to Blake Models, who represent talent across the UK.

On the agency’s website, Ellie describes herself as ambitious, optimistic and thoughtful, and lists Gigi Hadid as her style icon.

The 5’6 beauty also shares her top health tip – drinking lots of green tea – and admits that her ‘guilty crush’ is TV presenter Stephen Mulhern.

If she wins the lottery – or lands a million pound modelling contract – she’d take her mum on the holiday of a lifetime to California.

With interest at such a young age, Ellie could be set to step in the footsteps of other local famous faces, including models-turned-TV presenters Cat Deeley and Emma Willis, and supermodel Erin O’Connor.
