AN AFTERNOON club for older people in Solihull was celebrating after a care provider extend their monthly donation towards the entertainment.
Age UK Solihull’s Wednesday Afternoon Club has been supported by Belmont Healthcare for the past year to pay for the entertainment in the form of a singer or speaker once a month.
Andrea Vinten, head of communications for the Belmont Healthcare group said: “We are honoured to continue our support for Age UK Solihull’s Wednesday Afternoon Club.
“At Belmont Healthcare we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote social inclusion and well-being among older adults in the Solihull community.
“We are proud to play a part in enhancing the quality of life for older individuals and fostering meaningful connections and experiences.”
The club, which is held at Moseley Cricket Club on Streetsbrook Road, Shirley, serves as a lifeline for older Solihull residents who live alone with no family or other support nearby.
It offers companionship, refreshments, and activities on a weekly basis.
Emma Hunter, clubs and activities coordinator at Age UK Solihull, said: “We are so grateful for Belmont Healthcare’s ongoing support of our Wednesday Afternoon Club.
“Our members rely on the Wednesday Afternoon Club for social interaction and support. They look forward to our monthly entertainment, and Belmont Healthcare’s monthly contributions have made a significant positive difference to the lives of older Solihull residents, helping to combat loneliness and foster a sense of belonging in the local community.
“We are delighted that they have decided to continue their generous support.”
