Emergency services attend to chemical incident at Regency Hotel

FIRE crews have been in attendance at a multi-agency incident involving chemicals at The Regency Hotel in Shirley.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was also called to the hotel on Stratford Road shortly after 1pm today.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “We assessed ten patients for injuries, seven of which were admitted to hospital.”

Three people were taken by ambulance to Heartlands Hospital, while four people were taken to Good Hope Hospital.




The patients were treated for minor symptoms.

The spokesperson added the service’s Hazardous Response Team remained at the scene with the fire service.
