A CYCLIST, 74, has died after an incident involving a car in Knowle.
It happened at about noon today on Fen End Road West, Knowle, Solihull.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said an off-duty paramedic started resuscitation at the scene while two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were en-route.
The spokesman said: “The exact circumstances of what happened were not clear.
“Unfortunately, the elderly man suffered a cardiac arrest and despite CPR being started shortly after the incident, sadly it was not possible to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
“There were no other injuries.”
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Fen End Road in Solihull just after midday today (Tuesday, September 4) to a report of an injured cyclist in the road.
“The road was closed for a short time, while police conducted enquiries.
“A 74-year-old man sadly passed away and investigations are now on-going to establish how he came about his injuries.”
