Eggs for all at Headway's Easter-themed fun event this Sunday

Solihull Editorial 4th Apr, 2022   0

LOCAL brain injury charity Headway is celebrating the return of its annual Easter Fun Run following a two-year absence.

Restrictions around Covid meant the 2020 fun run was cancelled just a few weeks before it was due to take place and then held as a virtual event instead, while the 2021 event was replaced with a virtual egg and spoon race.

As in previous years, the 5km Easter Fun Run 2022 will be held in the beautiful grounds of Cofton Park in Longbridge, looping twice along the paved pathways, fields and woodland trails.

The event is organised by Headway Birmingham and Solihull to help raise funds towards its local brain injury services, and will take place this Sunday April 10, starting at 11am.

Entry for this family-friendly fun run has been held at just £12 for adults and £8 for under 12s, with all finishers receiving a full-size chocolate Easter egg and a quality Easter-themed medal, sponsored by local company Frenkel Topping once again.

Julie Wedgbury from Headway, said: “The Easter Fun Run is a feel-good event and one of the charity’s key fundraising activities, and so we’re really pleased it can go ahead this year. It was a sell-out last time it was held, and so we’d urge people to sign up without delay to be sure of their place!”

The route is suitable for new runners, C25k graduates and Parkrunners, as well as more seasoned runners keen to enjoy a sociable morning in the park. Children are also very welcome, as are dogs (one dog per runner, on a lead).

Easter-themed fancy dress is optional and there will be prizes awarded for the best costume as well as for the first male and female entrants to cross the line.

Refreshments and other fun activities will also be on offer on the morning of the fun run, with all proceeds going towards Headway’s local brain injury services. For more information visit www.headway-bs.org.uk/events, call 07483 173877 or email [email protected].
