The national spotlight is on Solihull Moors Football Club, creating great pride for the town.
Ex-England keeper Tim Flowers’ thriving non-league side did themselves justice live on BBC2 with a draw in their second round FA Cup tie against League One high-fliers Blackpool, historically a giant of the game.
It was enough to fire the imagination, followed by elation when our relatively new club drew the mighty Arsenal for the third round, should Moors win the replay at Blackpool.
Moors’ sporting director Mark Fogarty spoke for the whole town during Monday’s televised cup draw, by saying that just to be drawn out the hat with Arsenal was fantastic in itself.
We all have our fingers crossed for the challenging replay.
