EDITOR'S COMMENT: Family's alarm over policing after brutal attack is becoming familiar tale

Les Reid 13th Jan, 2019

POLICE officers are doing brave and important jobs under increasing strain and dwindling numbers, as Solihull borough residents recognise.

Yet also becoming increasingly familiar – with crime and violent crime on the rise – is the experience of one Solihull family we report on our front page.

A son was brutally attacked in a town centre street. He was left out cold on the pavement.

The Glynne family was extremely frustrated by a perceived lack of police response.

So much so that they felt they had no choice but to hire a private detective, and approach the media in desperation for help in seeking justice.
