POLICE officers are doing brave and important jobs under increasing strain and dwindling numbers, as Solihull borough residents recognise.

Yet also becoming increasingly familiar – with crime and violent crime on the rise – is the experience of one Solihull family we report on our front page.

The Glynne family was extremely frustrated by a perceived lack of police response.

So much so that they felt they had no choice but to hire a private detective, and approach the media in desperation for help in seeking justice.
