Coventry being awarded City of Culture 2021 is a historic time for celebration for a neighbouring city, and good news for Solihull.
Many residents in parts of the borough closest to the city in particular have expressed their delight.
The greatest transformational potential from it rests in the city’s and its people’s pride; the city’s elevated sense of place, its image and self-image.
Coventry is now in the national spotlight and the entire region stands to benefit.
Hull estimates its hosting of this year’s City of Culture is bringing in £1billion in grants, visitor and other revenue.
And 2021 will see national arts and culture events on our doorstep.
