A PAIR of women have been handed top jobs at the Urban Growth Company (UGC) as the project reaches its next stage of development.
Sue Barrett, who was previously commercial and contracts director becomes chief operating officer (COO), while Hayley Davis has joined as communications and engagement officer.
The move highlights a step change within the organisation as it moves deeper into the project delivery stage of its vision to deliver transformational social and economic benefits associated with the arrival of HS2.
In a statement the UGC said these changes will further strengthen the team in its work in delivering strategically important projects at The Hub, as well as supporting its partners to complete the infrastructure projects that all combine to unlock the full potential of the 1,300-hectare site near the M42.
In her new role, Sue Barrett, will oversee the daily operations of the UGC including designing and leading operational strategies and policies, particularly those being delivered in partnership with third party organisations.
Hayley Davis, who has worked in communications for over ten years and has a background in public sector, education and housing, will support the head of communications to reach, engage and listen to the views of the UGC’s list of stakeholders.

“This step up to COO is perfectly timed as we develop new processes and systems to support our delivery work.
“Hayley’s appointment is just as timely. As well as delivering projects on the ground, it’s important that we continue with our strategic communications and engagement work to bring stakeholders on this exciting journey with us.”
