Drugs and illegal cigarettes found Acocks Green raid

THOUSANDS OF POUNDS worth of illegal drugs and cigarettes in Acocks Green.

Neighbourhood officers carried out a warrant on October 1 at a retail premises on Yardley Road, working in partnership with colleagues from Birmingham City Council’s Trading Standards team.

West Midlands Police said approximately £3,000 worth of nitrous oxide was seized alongside approximately £2,900 worth of cigarettes.

Sgt Antony Coy, from the Acocks Green Neighbourhood Team, said: “Working with our partners like Trading Standards, we are absolutely committed to targeting those involved in the supply of illegal goods in our communities, as we know the harm they can cause.

“The warrant was carried out thanks to intelligence from the public, which is vital to us.

“I would urge residents to keep reporting issues, and to speak to local officers about any concerns they have. “
