Double celebration as Mighty Compton Organ gets fired up

Solihull Editorial 3rd May, 2023   0

DOUBLE celebrations are in order when The Mighty Compton is fired up again on Sunday (May 7).

To mark the King’s coronation and the platinum year of The Cinema Organ Society David Lowe will take the helm on the 1935 Mighty Compton Cinema Organ at Fentham Hall, Marsh Lane in Hampton–in-Arden.

This is a concert to mark these two very important events with a programme of music to suit.

David is a trustee of the Society and a very experienced organist and in his spare time he works part-time as a rail and waterway consultant, is active in inland waterway matters and is a member of the Canal and River Trust Freight Advisory Group.

The organ is installed beneath the stage and will rise in true Blackpool fashion.

It is available to play by arrangement.

Doors open at 1.30pm, with curtain up at 2.30pm.

Admission £10 cash on the door, including interval refreshments and parking.

For more telephone the District Secretary on 01564 794778 or visit The Fentham Hall Compton facebook page.
