SOLIHULL’S firefighters are calling on kind-hearted residents to donate items to help keep Birmingham Dog’s Home residents cozy this Christmas.
Following a visit to the Catherine De-Barnes charity and meeting some of the residents who look to call the centre home for Christmas the fire station launched it 2024 appeal.
The station is collecting items on Birmingham Dog’s Home’s wish list including blankets, towels, plastic dog beds, grain-free dry dog food, treats for the pooches stockings excluding rawhide, toys, collars, leads and washing detergent.
Writing on Facebook Solihull Fire Station said: “They have many many dogs that are available now or being looked after until they are ready for adoption, but we would like to support them with a collection of useful items to keep the wheels turning and the dogs as comfortable as possible until they are adopted by someone amazing.
“We visited the dogs home and met some of the amazing staff and dogs, but were also lucky enough to meet a very special girl in person (Rosie) who is a 5-year-old Presa Canaria, she is ready and waiting for her forever family and home.”
Donations should be dropped at the front right hand side of the fire station on Streetsbrook Road in Solihull by December 17.
