FAMILIES in need in Solihull are set to benefit from a donation of car seats, travel systems and bedding.
The items, worth more than £4,000, have been handed to Solihull Council by John Lewis Solihull.
The Council says the donations will make a huge difference to families who otherwise may not have been able to afford the expensive yet essential items.
Beneficiaries will include looked after children, families who are fostering, low income families, adopted children and other residents with children who are identified as being in need.
Councillor Michael Gough, cabinet member for Children’s Services and Skills, said: “The cost of living crisis has affected us all, but has greatly impacted our more vulnerable and low income families, who regularly have to make difficult financial decisions, to make their household budget stretch further.
“These products which many people take for granted, will make a genuine difference for parents and carers across Solihull, to support their children on a day-to-day basis.”
