SILHILLIANS are being called on to help spread some festive cheer while doing the weekly shop.
Be Kind, which is the brainchild of Solihull woman Yasmin Paulson, had launched a Sock Choc Appeal to support the homeless in a collaboration with the Birmingham Christmas Shelter.
The shelter is a volunteer-led initiative that’s been offering warmth, safety, and dignity to those in need for over 50 years.
From December 24 to 28 doors are open and the team provide three hot meals a day, a safe place to sleep and access to showers, clothing, and essential facilities.
Yasmin said: “To help them this year, we’ve launched our Sock Choc Appeal – a simple, heartfelt way to share comfort and kindness.
“The idea is beautifully straightforward: a pair of warm socks and a bar of chocolate, gifted with love.
“It’s a gesture that means the world to someone facing hardship.”
Donations can be made at Solihull supermarkets including Tesco in Solihull, Asda in Parkgate, Morrison’s in Sheldon, and Acocks Green, Smithtons Café in Solihull, – The Barn Pub in Olton and Highfield Butchers in Hall Green.
Each location will have a donation container where donations can be dropped off.
