AN ELMDON charity has cancelled its 19th anniversary as temperatures are set to rise over the weekend.
A heatwave has been predicted to hit parts of the region by the weekend with temperatures set to reach 29C in Solihull.
Daybreaks Trust Greyhound Rescue and Rehoming Charity has called off its celebrations, which were due to take place on Sunday (June 29).
Ben Sambrook, one of Daybreak’s Trustee’s said: “Unfortunately, due to the high temperatures forecast this weekend we have taken the difficult decision to postpone our event.
“The welfare of our four-legged friends and their owners being our number one priority.
“We are now working hard to re-arrange for July 20 and we look forward to welcoming everybody then.”
