THERE’S a free archaeology for all ages next Saturday, September 18 at The Core in Solihull town centre.

It’s all happening between 11am and 3pm and there’s no need to book, just turn up and get stuck in.

There will be hands on activities in the foyer with experts from Wessex Archaeology where they’be be showing some finds from

Warwickshire and beyond.

Visitors will also be able to find out more about what it’s like to be an archaeologist and learn archaeological processes that they can try at home too.

Those aged from eight to 16 who enjoy all things archaeological might also be interested in joining the brand new Solihull Young Archaeologists’ Club.

Come along on the day to find out more or visit https://www.yac-uk.org/.

Also at The Core there will be a screening of ‘Uncovering Coleshill’ in the theatre at 11.30am and repeated at 2pm.

A 40 minute film exploring the recent archaeological excavations at Coleshill during work on the HS2 rail line.

The videos will be introduced by the archaeologists who dug and managed the site for over a year.

They will also be on hand to answer any questions after the screening.

Once again the film is free.
