Solihull Editorial 9th May, 2024   0

DEMENTIA patients and their loved ones are being offered a helping hand as well as a cuppa and a cake in Knowle.

Care company, Unique Senior Care Solihull, has joined forced with local organisations to host a Dementia Information Market Place Event on Tuesday (May 14) at Knowle Village Hall in St. John’s Close as part of Dementia Action Week, which runs from May 13 to 19.

From 10am until noon professional and community organisations will be on hand to share support and offer guidance for those affected by dementia, whether they are dealing with a diagnosis, concerned about memory, or supporting loved ones.

The event will feature a range of professional and community organizations, including Admiral Nurses, Age UK, Social Prescribers, Carers Trust, Solihull MBC, Fire & Police Service, and others.

It will also include fundraising activities in support of both the Admiral Nurses and The Alzheimer’s Society.

Philip Wright-Howarth, director at Unique Senior Care, said: “We believe that offering support and intervention at an early stage is essential in helping individuals to live well with dementia.

“The event’s goal is to create a welcoming space to encourage learning and understanding, thus reducing the stigma associated with dementia.”
