Dancing the afternoon away

FEET were tapping and hands were clapping as Shirley care home residents danced the afternoon away.

Fountains care home was filled with sounds, and moves, of the past when Retro Rhythms dancers visited residents, loved ones and staff.

The group gave a lively, fun filled performance which left the Shirley residents reminiscing about the good old days.

Shirley Nunn, a resident at Fountains care home said: “I’ve had such a lovely time. I made so many connections, and loved being able to join in and be a part of the whole experience. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get involved.”

The event was organized by activity coordinator Louise Crooks, said: “We’ve all had a lovely afternoon of celebrating music, dance, and reminiscing.

“It didn’t take long before the energy in the room was electric.

“Hearing familiar tunes of yesteryears leaving smiles on our resident’s faces as they made connections, such a pleasurable moment.”
