A SOLIHULL school girl has taken a step closer to catching her dream after securing a spot at a top dance school.

Connie Lester has beaten off the competition to be awarded a fully funded scholarship and place at The Hammond School in Chester.

She has been dancing at Chelis School of dance in Sheldon for 10 years and during her time there she has performed at Royal Albert Hall and Disney Land Paris.

The Lyndon School pupil has also collected a vast number of medals and trophies and has worked extremely hard by dedicating most of her spare time to dance.

Connie said: “I am really excited to be given the opportunity to have this scholarship. I have dreamed of dancing all my life and this is a dream come true.”

Ria Newman, performing arts curriculum team leader and associate assistant principal at Lyndon School, Summit Learning Trust, said: “Everyone at Lyndon School is so proud of Connie and her achievement.

“She is a fantastic performer and dedicated to her dance.

“It has been such a pleasure to teach her, and I know she has such a bright career ahead of her.”
