Dads called on to join life-saving skills

Sarah Mason 18th May, 2025   0

DADS are being called on to sign up to learn life-saving skills.

Solihull Round Table has joined forced with with West Midlands CARE to deliver a free course on Tuesday (May 20) at Olton Primary School from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

The free course will see parents learn vital skills needed in an emergency including CPR and choking relief for infants and children, treatment of burns, cuts, and other common injuries and how to stay calm and act quickly in an emergency.

Solihull Round Table said: “This course addresses common reasons why fathers may avoid first aid training, such as assuming their partner will handle it, believing emergencies are rare, feeling unprepared, or thinking calling 999 is sufficient.

“This course empowers dads to confidently act in a crisis, potentially saving their child’s life.”

Donations to support CARE Medical’s life-saving work in the community will be gratefully accepted at the event.
