Solihull Editorial 6th Jul, 2017   0

INDEPENDENT charity Crimestoppers is today offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information on the whereabouts of 20-year-old Jammal Chase, who is wanted for questioning in connection with murder.

Jammal Chase is the main suspect in the murder of Giovanni Lewis, who was 21 when he died after being stabbed in the heart during an attack in Hadfield Way, Kingshurst, Birmingham, on 18 October 2016. He was taken to hospital by a member of the public where he died, despite the best efforts of medics who battled for an hour to save his life.

The charity Crimestoppers is now offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Jammal Chase.* The appeal featured on today’s Crimewatch Roadshow on BBC One.

Pauline Hadley, Crimestoppers’ Regional Manager for the West Midlands, said: “The murder of Giovanni Lewis has left his wife devastated. His family are distraught and deserve to see justice and know what happened.

“Despite repeated calls for Jammal Chase to hand himself in for questioning and give his side of the story, he continues to evade authorities. This is why we are offering a reward for information given to Crimestoppers on his whereabouts. The public’s safety is important to us which is why we guarantee all those who contact us with information stay 100% anonymous. Jammal should not be approached directly by members of the public.”

If you have any information, please contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through our Anonymous Online Form at crimestoppers-uk.org.

*Note: The reward is valid for three months and will only qualify if information is passed to Crimestoppers’ 0800 555 111 number or anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org. Information passed directly to police will not qualify.
