Council to suspend parking enforcement over festive period

SO(LIHULL Council is suspending parking enforcement in residential areas over the Christmas and New Year period.

Parking enforcement will be suspended from this Monday, December 20, until Monday, January 3.

However it says drivers should still continue to park considerately and safely and continue to comply with the Highway Code.

Relaxation applies to roads subject to single yellow line restrictions only. Parking enforcement will resume as normal from Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Councillor Ken Hawkins, Solihull Council’s cabinet member for environment and infrastructure, said: “In taking this decision we want to support local people as they visit friends and relatives and enjoy Christmas together, in line with current Government Covid guidelines.

“Please park considerately and help everyone to have a safe and happy time over the festive period.”
