Core Creatives’ gallery takeover

Solihull Editorial 27th Jul, 2024   0

SOLIHULL artists are set to take over The Courtyard Gallery as part of a new exhibition.

Visitors to the ‘Core Creatives Gallery Takeover’ exhibition from July 29 to August 10 will see 10 artists’ work featured in the gallery.

There will be the chance to chat and ask questions about their work, and view their artwork on display. All works will also be on sale to prospective buyers.

The 10 artists taking part are all members of Core Creatives – a creative hub and networking space based at The Core, which aims to benefit creative and cultural professionals living, working, and studying in Solihull.

Designed in conjunction with local creatives and funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Core Creatives aims to help local creatives to grow and develop their practice by enabling collaboration, experimentation, and business growth.

The takeover will take place over two weeks, with five artists resident in the gallery each week. The artists taking part during the week commencing Monday are:

  • Catherine Holland, who paints traditional landscapes with a modern twist,
  • Kat Bennett, who is set to showcase her love of the English weather, Richard Rudge, who is inspired by science fiction, nature, and the changing world,
  • Vicky ArtsAndCraftsV, who creates artwork in an impressionistic or abstract style
  • Zarine Kumar, who enjoys an abstract approach, often working in acrylic, charcoal, and oil pastel.

Artists taking part during the week commencing August 5 are:

  •  Bridget Rush, who will show images of streets and interiors of Ireland,
  • Hannah Smith, who specialises in abstract, nature-inspired paintings,
  • Jenny Musty, whose work is an expression of a deep appreciation for beauty,
  • Louise Minton, who draws inspiration from places she has travelled, using new cities, landscapes, and people as a springboard for ideas
  • Tash Cullen, which displays aspects of Tash’s life, including a strong theme of cats.

Entry is free and open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9am to 5pm, Wednesday from 10am to 5pm and Thursday from 9am to 8pm. Find out more on The Core’s website.
