Community champions step up to help Hatton school

SUPERMARKET staff stepped up to lend a hand to a school with a difference.

Volunteers from Tesco Solihull recently helped to transform a dull bedroom into a bright new classroom at Hatton’s Northleigh House School.

The Community Champions who represent the branch by volunteering for local causes, worked hard to paint the room and prepare it for new arrivals in September.

Vivienne Morgan and husband Fred, bought Northleigh House in Hatton ten years ago and ran it as a small hotel.

But hearing increasingly common stories about children committing suicide due to bullying, the couple decided to turn their ten-bedroom home into a school for victims.

Volunteers Gillian and Claire said: “We loved volunteering at Northleigh House, Viv and the staff do a fantastic job. The school offers emotionally vulnerable and anxious young people a safe, calm and nurturing environment in which to reclaim their self confidence and self esteem.”
