Community champion teams up with leisure centre to raise money for children charity

MORRISONS community champion from Acocks Green has teamed up with Fox Hollies Leisure Centre to organise a fundraiser for a children’s palliative care charity.

Acorns in Selly Oak helps families care for seriously ill children and provide them with vital care.

Danielle Barker the community champion for Morrisons and the membership adviser of Fox Hollies Leisure Centre Dawn Jones are holding a fundraising day at the leisure centre.

They’re holding back to back fitnesses classes from 8am until 12 noon on September 24.




Some of the money they raise will help to make memory boxes for the families.

The classes are:


  • 8am-8.45am- Indoor cycling
  • 9am-10am – Body combat
  • 10am-11am-Body Attcack
  • 10am-11am-Body pump
  • 10am-11am -Steps aerobics-grand finale

Danielle said: “There ambition is to be there for every family facing the heartbreak of their child dying young, ensuring they can get vital support from children’s hospices that provide them with vital care and the chance to make precious memories together.”

To get involved you can turn up on the day and join the class and make a donation for the charity.
