SHOCKWAVES hit Solihull when the tragic news hit about the boys on Babbs Mill Lake.
As the events unfolded it was clear that community spirit lives on in Kingshurst and how much they care – from the police referring to members of the public selflessly heading into the waters to try and rescue the boys before the emergency services arrived, to the silent vigil and the number of flowers being laid.
Doors have been opened and warm drinks have been shared – not only between residents, but also to those on the front line.
The incident has also shown how much the emergency services care for the community they serve, as both firefighters and police officers are said to have headed into the water with no regard to their personal safety before specialist teams arrived.
Our deepest sympathies go out to all the families involved during these tragic times.
