PUPILS, staff, families and the community came together at Solihull School for an Iftar meal.
The event brought together guests to celebrate the spirit of togetherness, reflection, and charity that is central to Ramadan.
The event, which was held at school’s Warwick Road campus, was attended by over 200 people including the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Shahin Ashraf, who spoke about the importance of community, unity and understanding across cultures.
Several Solihull pupils also took to the stage to present their thoughts, with Lower Sixth student Zain delivering a heartfelt call to prayer, setting a reflective tone for the evening.
The Iftar meal featured an array of traditional dishes, allowing families to after a day of fasting.
The meal was a showcase of the cultural diversity within the school community and provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the practices and significance of Ramadan.
Ms Speirs, deputy head pastoral and DEI lead at Solihull said: “We are incredibly proud to have hosted such a meaningful event that brought our 3-18 school community together to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan.
“It is important that we create opportunities for our pupils and families to engage with different cultures and traditions, fostering mutual respect and understanding. The atmosphere in the Refectory was amazing, a really happy evening.”
