THE PRINCIPAL of Solihull College and University Centre has been handed a Fellowship for contributions to teaching.
Dr Rebecca Gater was handed her award by the Chartered Institution for Further Education (CIFE).
This distinguished accolade, recognising significant contributions to the further education and skills sector, was presented at a ceremony held at the historic Apothecaries House in London.
The Fellowship celebrates leaders who demonstrate outstanding dedication, innovation, and impact.
For Rebecca, it highlights a career devoted to transforming lives through education and expanding opportunities for learners, employers, and communities alike.
Since joining Solihull College and University Centre in January 2016, and taking the helm as principal in 2022, Rebecca has led the College through a period of growth and success.
Milestones include achieving a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating with a ‘strong’ contribution to skills and spearheading the largest Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) in the country.
Rebecca said: “This recognition reflects the collaborative efforts of so many passionate professionals across further education.
“At Solihull College and University Centre, we are united in our mission to empower learners and address the evolving needs of our communities.
“I’m privileged to share this honour with my colleagues and peers as we continue to celebrate the transformative power of education and the importance of working together to shape its future.”
The College says the award shows Rebecca’s commitment to forging partnerships, championing innovation, and ensuring education equips learners with the skills to excel in a rapidly changing world.
